Former Million Dead vocalist tours in support of third solo LP

Article by Lauren Mayberry | 05 Oct 2009

When touring his Love, Ire and Song album last year, Frank Turner, lauded for his turn in post-hardcore semi-heroes Million Dead, was forced to pull a number of shows due to gastroenteritis. So, the country folk punk songwriter is back, following a US sojourn with The Gaslight Anthem, in support of recent release Poetry For The Deed. Arranged with a full band, this latest album deviates from Turner’s previous penchant for recording a majority of sounds himself, better lending itself to a live set. Produced by Grammy nominated Alex Newport, associated with the likes of At The Drive-In and Death Cab, Turner’s honest, wry romanticism seems to finally be garnering attention overdue.
