Fear Factory @ QMU, 16 Dec

Pop had John and Paul; folk had Simon and Garfunkel; and industrial metal had Burton C. Bell and Dino Cazares. Rightly or wrongly, if you were a Kerrang!-reading adolescent in the mid-nineties (and who wasn't?) then Fear Factory were undoubtedly a pretty big deal. Of course, the band's techno-dystopian visions seem silly now – but who could have guessed that Willow Smith and Justin Bieber would be the reality?

Given the band's position as prophets of doom, peddling redundant warnings of an already-dated future, this remanufactured model (Christian Olde Wolbers and Raymond Herrera have been rendered obselete) promises a unique and bizarre trip down memory lane. [Mark Shukla]
