Charles Hayward @ CCA, 25 Mar

Article by Eric Ledford | 16 Feb 2010

As one-third of influential vangardists This Heat, drummer/composer/singer Hayward reconsidered the experimentalism of krautrock by way of punk’s unequivocal spite. Forging onwards with Camberwell Now and eventually Massacre, not to mention an exhaustive list of side-projects, he has also performed and/or recorded with the likes of Brian Eno, Fred Frith, Tom Cora, Otomo Yoshihide, Coil and the Raincoats. Worthy of loads more recognition than he currently commands, this rare solo appearance will allow him to seize the spotlight he so richly deserves, a one-man show that ensures total sonic bombardment via the perpetual motion of drums, tapes and voice.
