Master of the Blues is back in the UK for the first time in years

Article by Neal Parsons | 21 May 2008

Having gone missing for a while now, on this side of the Atlantic at least, some people may be surprised to see this blues legend is not only alive and well, but touring once again. Well you can’t keep a good axe-wielding blues meister down as the saying goes, and sure enough Buddy Guy is back this month, playing as part of Glasgow International Jazz Festival. The multiple Grammy award winning crooner and strummer will be bringing his show back across the pond for three UK dates this month. While his touring partner, Junior Wells, may have passed away at the back end of the 90s, Mr Guy is still going strong with his lightning fingers and heartfelt wail of voice. Described as the greatest guitarist alive by some guy called Eric Clapton, he's certain to rattle through his own extraordinary back catalogue and is always good for some expert cover versions of blues standards.
