An evening of Chemikal melodies

Article by Simon Hay | 22 Sep 2008

Time to put the beer down and take it all in. Former Arab Strapper Aidan John Moffat, however, will not be spilling a drop; the Falkirk born poet and multi-instrumentalist could be described as a modern day Rabbie Burns, accompanied by a record player and a toy keyboard. Reciting his recent solo recording I Can Hear You’re Heart, Aidan’s live show is a shocker for most and an intelligent laugh for all. Supporting are two entirely polar acts. Showcasing new material, Glasgow’s own De Rosa are lead by creative force Martin John Henry, producing progressive folk-punk that has fast secured a great live reputation. Opening band Angil and the Hiddentracks are flying in from St Etienne for this one off show. They write and perform beautifully disjointed music with Daniel Johnston-esque lyrics and Angil's infamous out of tune piano. Enjoy the Chemikal Underground melodies. [Simon Hay]
