A Camp @ ABC 2, 2 May

The Swedish semi-super-group tour in support of sophomore LP Colonia.

Article by Lauren Mayberry | 17 Apr 2009

Riding on the back of their recently released second album, Colonia, Nina Persson and her men are returning to the road. Originally intended as a duo with Atomic Swing musician Niclas Frisk, the addition of Persson’s film-composer husband (or, as some have argued, the Cardigans’ Yoko figure) and guest musicians Joan as Police Woman and Guided By Voices drummer Kevin March resulted in a record full of sensitive, heartfelt pop. Winners of four Swedish Grammys, A Camp know their way around a melody and Persson is lyrically on-point. Pessimism has never sounded so simultanteously sweet and ever so slightly Abba.
