Fife folk supremo Kenny Anderson – aka King Creosote – has announced a string of UK tour dates for early 2015, including a rare full-band performance of his soundtrack to the documentary From Scotland With Love.

KC will front a ten-piece band to perform his soundtrack to director Virginia Heath and producer Grant Keir’s film at Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall on Thu 22 Jan.

From Scotland With Love is comprised of footage taken from Scotland’s film archives, showing Scots at work and play over the course of the 20th century – we gave KC’s “transportive” soundtrack a four-star review on its release in July.

Describing his work on the soundtrack, Anderson told The Skinny: “It was like a game of table tennis, backwards and forwards, right up to the final edit... We had to just go with whatever was there with this blind faith that it’d somehow make sense.

"It probably sounds like we didn’t really have much of a plan, but in actual fact we didn’t have any plan. We just kind of went for it…”

The From Scotland With Love show is part of the 2015 Celtic Connections programme. Anderson’s UK tour includes a gig at Academy 2 in Manchester on Tue 27 Jan, and a second date at London’s Union Chapel on Mon 2 Feb added after an initial show sold out.

Tickets for King Creosote’s Celtic Connections show are on sale now. Tickets for the remaining UK shows go on sale on Thu 16 Oct at 10am, except the Belfast date which goes on sale on Fri 17 Oct.
