Listen: United Fruit showcase new direction on How Long (Change You Into Something Better)

Glaswegian post-hardcore outfit United Fruit have been on The Skinny's radar for a long time now – they graced our cover when they played T Break in 2011, and this year will be one of the bands featured in the GoNorth showcase. Their debut album was 2011's Fault Lines, and both that and 2009 EP Mistress, Reptile Mistress! received four-star reviews in these pages.

This year, the band return with a new album, as yet untitled, promising a more melodic, pop-influenced sound. We also interviewed United Fruit back in 2009, invited them to review the singles back in February last year, and asked them for their thoughts on T Break in March this year.

On the strength of the first track to be shared, How Long (Change You Into Something Better), it is a powerful transformation for the band, composed of Iskandar Stewart and Stuart Galbraith (vocals and guitar), Marco Panagopoulos (bass) and Dean Inglis (drums). We'll keep you posted as more details of the new album emerge.
