STILL GAME LIVE AT THE HYDRO – MORE DATES ADDED
Reuniting the original cast for the first time in six years, Still Game is coming to the stage at Glasgow's new venue The Hydro in just under a year's time. The show was announced earlier this week, with four nights at the venue originally planned, running from 30 September 2014 to 3 October. These dates at the 12,000 capacity arena all sold out immediately, leading to an additional two dates on Sunday 4 October being announced soon after.

Beginning life as a stage show in 1999, Still Game centres around the lives of old age pensioners Jack Jarvis and Victor McDade, played by Ford Kiernan and Greg Hemphill. Incorporated into Scottish sketch show Chewin' The Fat, the duo proved so popular that eventually they were given their own series, which ran from 2002 until 2007, introducing a fantastic supporting cast of characters who proved just as enduring as Jack and Victor.

Hemphill and Kiernan fell out around 2007, citing "creative differences" – hopes of a reunion seemed unlikely for several years. "We never really stopped talking completely, so there was always the chance we'd get around to bringing the show back," Hemphill told The Herald. "For me, the catalyst was watching the arrival of the Hydro. We figured it would be an incredible arena to play. And now that's what we're planning to do."

With the instant sell-out of their Hydro gig, it has been proved beyond a doubt that fans of the show are still hungry for more, and rumours have started to fly about the possibility of a Christmas Special for TV next year. The entire original cast of the TV show will join Kiernan and Hemphill on stage, including shopkeeper Navid (Sanjeev Kohli), Boaby the Barman (Gavin Mitchell), Isa (Jane McCarry) and Winston (Paul Riley). Tickets are on sale today from The Hydro and usual outlets.

NEW MUSIC: A PERFECT CIRCLE, CUT COPY, P.O.S., THE GODFATHERS (NECRO & KOOL G RAP), RUNGS
First up, huge news for fans of alt.rock supergroup A Perfect Circle – the band have announced a comprehensive anthology, Three Sixty, and this week they unveiled their first new song in over ten years. The album drops on 18 November.

Cut Copy have revealed two tracks from their forthcoming album Free Your Mind, slated for release on 5 November. The two tracks – We Are Explorers, and Take Me Higher, are available to stream.

US rapper P.O.S. released his album We Don't Even Live Here in 2012, and now he returns with a full remix album handled by Minneapolis noise band Marijuana Deathsquads. The album WDELH/MDS/RMX is out now, and available for free download via Soundcloud or via the Rhymesayers site

The Godfathers is a new project teaming up dark hip-hop producer Necro with veteran emcee Kool G Rap. Their album Once Upon A Crime drops on 19 November.

Finally, a preview from 'progressive punks' Rungs, who play Glasgow's Flat 0/1 on 30 October. It's a collective containing ex-members of Take A Worm For A Walk Week, Lapsus Linguae and Project Venhell, so we heartily recommend getting along to the gig!

NEW VIDEOS: RUN THE JEWELS, DANIEL AVERY, DAEDELUS, THROWING MUSES, ARCTIC MONKEYS, YOUNG FATHERS, THE FAUNS, EFTERKLANG
El-P and Killer Mike's Run The Jewels project has been touring worldwide over the past few months, playing some incredible shows – and you can get a taster of the vibe and energy they create in the new video for Get It, taken from their self-titled debut album, which gets a vinyl reissue on Big Dada this month.

Daniel Avery's debut album Drone Logic has been almost universally critically acclaimed (read our review here, and our in-depth interview with Avery here). This week, he unveiled the video for All I Need, via Nowness.

We interviewed LA electronic gentleman Daedelus about his new album Drown Out (reviewed here) last month – this week he unveiled the video for standout cut Tiptoes, featuring some sublime vocals from wife Laura Darlington, herself a regular Flying Lotus collaborator. He also performed a brilliant live set for Boiler Room NYC, which you can see below.

Throwing Muses have boarded the reunion train, occupying a berth directly behind the Pixies in the 4AD carriage. Sunday Venus is the first track from the Kristin Hersh-fronted band in over a decade, with an album, Purgatory/Paradise to follow on 11 November. The album will be accompanied by a book (available 28 October).

Arctic Monkeys have a new video out, taken from AM (reviewed here). The video's dead pastoral, likes.

As Edinburgh-based alt.hip-hop crew Young Fathers prepare to drop their full-length album Dead in February next year, they have revealed the video for a new track, Low.

Invada-signed shoegaze/post-rock scamps The Fauns dropped a new video this week, taken from forthcoming album Lights, out 2 December.

Efterklang's new album Piramida is out now – this week the band dropped not one but two new videos for tracks Black Summer and Between The Walls. The band play The Kazimier, Liverpool, on 27 October.

His first tour in five years will see him drafting in the skills of reggae singer Ricky Ranking and a whole host of accomplished musicians. Here's a preview of what fans can expect from the tour.

Amanda Brown's 100% Silk, the seminal LA label behind Maria Minerva, Ital, Polysick, Octo Octa and others, are preparing to release a documentary about their 2012 world tour. Watch the trailer below!

SLAYER SHADES!
As we continue to mourn the loss of the great Jeff Hanneman and their foolishness for punting out Dave Lombardo, as human beings with ears, we can all agree on one thing – Slayer rule hard. The world's greatest extreme metal group may be hardcore, but that doesn't mean they don't love Christmas time – see last year's awesome Slayer jumpers as evidence of their commitment to the seasonal merch market. This year, they have outdone themselves, unveiling a new line of Slayer shades. YESSSSS. Tell Santa to get these bought pronto, or you'll kick him in the baubles.

TRAILERS: CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, ANCHORMAN 2
Just time for a quick couple of previews. First up, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which looks marginally less camp than the first film, and features a healthy dose of punching and explosions, which as we all know, makes for good cinema. You can tell this sequel will be 'darker' than the original – check out Cap's new 'I'm super serious, me' costume.

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues picks up after the first film's brilliantly ridiculous 70s satire, and traces the career of news anchor Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell) through the 80s. Here's the new trailer. The film is out 20 December – just in time for Chrimbo.
