It's about bloody time! Europe has waited patiently for this. Has it been worth the wait? Well… yes and no. This game was previously only available in Japan until this remake was announced, so it's sure to have Square Enix fanboys punching the air with excitement. Others will find it too old school with its simple menu-driven battle system and twee graphics. If you enjoy RPGs then you are in for a treat. This has all the main ingredients: kingdom in trouble, 70+ hours of gameplay and more wizards in pointy hats than you can swing your sword at. The game drips artistry and boasts some of the console's best graphics and sound to date. This is one for the true Final Fantasy fans, gorgeous and full of character but it will slip under the radar of most casual gamers. [Dave Cook]
