Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles(Konami)

The neat ability to swap turtles adds a meagre amount of tactics to the mix, thanks to their different weapon types, but it simply isn't enough

Game Review by Dave Cook | 10 Jun 2007
Released in time for the new CGI movie of the same name, the game based on the four pizza-munchin' mutants hasn't aged well. If you're old enough to remember the kick ass cartoon then the nostalgia factor will help smooth over some of the game's niggles.

For starters, it's extremely hard (don't mention the swimming sections!) and the screen-by-screen movement makes it difficult to see where the enemies are in the next area resulting in some unnecessary deaths. The slow-down can become infuriating and the confused sense of direction will have you going round in circles wondering what to do next. Some consolation can be found in the rather nice music that is full of infectious blips and blops, and the graphics aren't all that bad for their day. The neat ability to swap turtles adds a meagre amount of tactics to the mix, thanks to their different weapon types, but it simply isn't enough. [Dave Cook]
