Ol' Dirty Bastard documentary premieres online

On 15 November, a planned red carpet gala premiere at the NuHo Film Festival of a new documentary about the life of Russell Tyrone Jones, better known as Ol' Dirty Bastard (or Big Baby Jesus, whichever you prefer) was cancelled at the last minute following a legal challenge from the rapper's estate, leaving Wu-Tang Clan fans from Brooklyn disappointed. ODB, who passed away in 2004, is one of the most enduringly popular members of the Wu family.

Now, it seems an agreement has been made between Jones' estate and the filmmakers – the documentary is now available for paid streaming online, with a trailer available here. The film was made by a cousin of Jones, named Raison Allah. The charge for the stream also includes a download of an album's worth of new material by Wu-affiliates. Watch a promo for the documentary below, featuring some of ODB's contemporaries.
