Liverpool's Botanical Garden returns for 2017

Time to get sipping on a Baltic Triangle-inspired iced tea with a falafeldog in the sun... And, of course, ALL the gin

Good news, gin lovers: The Botanical Garden is back! Reopening for its third season this spring, the Baltic Triangle's al fresco drinking den will bloom back into life with a launch weekend across Sat 25 and Sun 26 Mar.

Across the relaunch weekend you can expect live bands, an all-new drinks menu, heated seating snugs (because, y'know, summer's still a long way off), and street food from Ta'amiya – the first venture of Michael Carey, former chef at Puschka.

Following a triumphant residency from Cuban-inspired newcomers FINCA last year, Ta'amiya will also be taking up residency for the ongoing new season at the Botanical Garden with an edible homage to Morocco and all things falafel, with Merguez meatballs, 'falafeldogs', wraps and much more, promising plenty of sunny flavours for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike.

With a range of seasonal drinks on offer including bespoke gin serves, some of the signature cocktails available will include:

The Tarragona

Portobello Road Gin, oleo saccharum, fresh lemon, tarragon and soda. Served with a lemon slice and tarragon sprig.

The Hot G&T

Portobello Road Gin, tonic syrup and boiling water. Served with an orange twist and juniper berries.

The Baltic Iced Tea

Portobello Road Gin, Creme de Peche, fresh lemon and chilled Earl Grey tea. Served long with a lemon wheel and peach bitters.

During the course of the season there also be lots of events and special surprises, including musical showcases and occasional guest DJs.
