The All Night Bad Movie Experience

The Cameo brings you films so bad, they’re good

Ask any insomniac – bad films are the best. Surf cable TV in the gloaming hours and you’ll find implausible plots, ball-hair budgets and ham-fisted dialogue. In short: films so bad, they’re good. The Cameo has rounded up the worst of the worst to save you Tevo space.

Samurai Cop (1989) is first up. A German male model terrorist has escaped from Die Hard to train in the ways of the samurai. Reformed, he wages war with Yakuza gangsters and their plot to corrupt an innocent Los Angeles. Look out for acting as versatile as the hairsprayed do of our protagonist.

Also struggling for movement are Patrick Swayze's Levi's in Road House (1989). Before they tried to put baby in a corner, they tried to kick Swayze outta his own Little Chef. Cue crudely choreographed bar room brawls and a crowbarred love interest, not to mention a random ripping out of an Adam’s apple that Rambo would be proud of.

The Room (2003) re-arranges the knocked over chairs and tables from Road House for a change of pace. Written, directed, produced and starring Tommy Wiseau, the blame lays pretty square for a film coined the ‘Citizen Kane of bad movies.’ This Bermuda love triangle between Wiseau, his fiancé and best bud has become a cult classic for those who like Days of Our Lives style subplots cast with craggy faced actors.

They saved the worst till last. Hospital Massacre (1982) hauls unrequited love onto the operating table. Glamour girl Susan goes for a check-up at her local hospital. When a masked killer starts doing the rounds, she fears the clutter of corpses in the corridor may be down to her.

Get down to the Cameo for 10pm on Saturday 3 December for an all-nighter of bad movie gold, complete with 35mm guffaw film trailers and a free raffle. Ask for your money back on the way out to catch a Greggs breakfast.
