We’ve been given more tantalising glimpses of what Danny Boyle’s Trainspotting sequel T2 might be like with the international trailer going online today with some additional footage of the gang’s reunion

Following the release of the first trailer earlier this month, a new international promo for T2: Trainspotting has just appeared online, whetting our appetites further for our reunion with the characters of Renton (Ewan McGregor), Spud (Ewen Bremner), Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller), and Begbie (Robert Carlyle).

Like the first trailer, there are few plot details revealed, but eagle-eyed film-fans will notice plenty of additional material that might help piece together what form Danny Boyle’s sequel, loosely based on Irvine Welsh’s novel Porno, will take.

If Welsh is any judge, however, fans should have high hopes. Speaking to NME earlier this month, the controversial novelist, having seen a cut of Boyle’s new film, suggest T2 might even improve on the brilliant original.

“It has managed to take the most dynamic elements of the [Trainspotting] book and Porno [Trainspotting sequel book, on which T2 is partially based] but also look forward to how it can be contemporary and present day… In some ways, I think it’s a better movie,” he told the NME. “It feels like a big epic movie. I’m very, very excited about it and I think people are going to be excited too.”

Can T2: Trainspotting do justice to the original? Find out on 27 Jan, when the film is released in the UK. Watch the full trailer above and let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
