The Deadpool sequel has a new teaser trailer

Most of the new clip is an extended joke about American TV show The Joy of Painting, but there a few glimpses of footage from the Deadpool sequel

The best thing about 2016’s Deadpool was its delightfully absurd marketing campaign, which included a promo image of the Merc with a Mouth lounging in front of a log fire trying to convince us the foul-mouthed comic book movie was a rom-com, and Ryan Reynolds starting a war with Wolverine star Hugh Jackman on Twitter. The new teaser for the upcoming Deadpool 2 is similarly irreverent.

Instead of your standard high-octane comic-book movie trailer, we instead get an extended spoof of quaint American television show The Joy of Painting, with Deadpool standing in for its genial presenter Bob Ross. Of course, the clip comes complete with masturbation jokes and extensive use of the colours “Yellow Snow” and "Betty White" (as well as moments of Deadpool pining for cocaine).

After Deadpool/Bob Ross’ art instruction we do eventually get around ten seconds of actual Deadpool 2 footage, which features some gun play, carnage, new mutants and the obligatory Deadpool arse shot, before returning back to The Joy of Painting.

Deadpool 2 is due for release 1 Jun 2018; take a look at the trailer in the player above or on YouTube here
