Actions have consequences; that’s what disgraced actor Kevin Spacey is currently discovering. Following allegations from young men that Spacey sexually harassed or assaulted them – which began with actor Anthony Rapp accusing the actor of making sexual advances towards him in 1986 when Spacey was 26 and Rapp was only 14 – Spacey has been shut out of two high-profile acting gigs.

First, Netflix announced that the sixth season of House of Cards, in which Spacey stars as a malevolent politician, would be the last. And later, the streaming service put that final season, which was due to start filming this Autumn, on hold indefinitely. Now it has been revealed that Spacey will be cut from his already-completed All the Money in the World, in which he plays oil tycoon J Paul Getty. (Watch the official trailer for the film below.)

The Ridley Scott-directed picture, which tells the story of Getty's refusal to cooperate with the extortion demands of a group of kidnappers who have abducted his grandson, was due to screen at the AFI Festival this month. In a bold and unprecedented move, the released date has been moved to 22 December (to make sure it's still eligible for this year's Oscars) and Spacey’s scenes are to be reshot with veteran actor Christopher Plummer in his place.

It’s reported that Spacey worked eight to ten days on the film; with only a month and a half until that new 22 December release date, Scott and his team had better get cracking.
