Fancy watching La La Land with a live orchestra?

An upcoming tour of La La Land with a live 60-piece ensemble will let you do just that

Moonlight may have picked up the Best Picture Oscar, but people are still going gaga for La La Land. Damien Chazelle’s effervescent, candy-coloured romance’s long cinema run has pretty much come to an end, but it’ll be back on a massive screen near you in September, complete with a 60-piece orchestra.

You’ll be able to hear the musical's intimate songs like City of Stars and Audition (The Fools Who Dream) played live, along with the more bombastic tracks on Justin Hurwitz’s Oscar-winning score when the The La La Land Live UK tour premieres at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall on 21 Sep before going on to Bristol, York, Birmingham and Edinburgh.

Written and directed by Damien Chazelle, the film tells the story of Mia (Emma Stone), an aspiring actress, and Sebastian (Ryan Gosling), a dedicated jazz musician, who are struggling to make ends meet in Hollywood. We called the film “finely cut, A-grade nostalgia that proves nigh-on-impossible to resist” – read our review.
