Daniel Craig to return as James Bond in ‘Spectre’

Feature by News Team | 04 Dec 2014

The title of the 24th film in the James Bond series has been revealed, with Spectre starring Daniel Craig and directed by Sam Mendes set for cinemas next November.

Returning to the franchise alongside Craig are Ralph Fiennes (as M), Naomie Harris (Moneypenny), Ben Whishaw (Q), and Rory Kinnear (Tanner). Veteran French actress Monica Bellucci and latter-day Tarantino collaborator Christoph Waltz are also expected to co-star.

Spectre – short for SPecial Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion, by the way – is the shadowy organisation led first by Dr. No then by Ernest Blofeld in the Sean Connery-era Bond films, with rumours rife that Blofeld could be set for a return to the series.

Spectre will be the second Bond film steered by American Beauty and Away We Go director Sam Mendes – Mendes helmed 2012’s Skyfall which we gave a four-star nod for its “fine mix of action, humour and... a truly great villain's lair”.
