The first film events for the inaugural Restless Natives festival in Glasgow's East End have been announced, including a special screening of Couple in a Hole followed by a Q&A with BEAK> duo Geoff Barrow and Billy Fuller.

The screening of the new film from Tom Geens, starring Kate Dickie and Paul Higgins as a couple withdrawn from civilisation, will be followed by a Q&A with Portishead's Barrow and his BEAK> bandmate Fuller, who composed the original score for the British made thriller. Listen to Timeshare from the soundtrack below.

Elsewhere, Edinburgh label Song, By Toad presents a screening of documentary The Ambiguity Of David Thomas Broughton, and cult classic The Room is followed by a behind-the-scenes documentary and a Q&A with Greg Sestero.

Blood, Sweat and Vinyl: DIY in the 21st Century screens with a live Q&A by director Kenneth Thomas, and Adam Stafford presents an exclusive live score for A Page Of Madness. Details of screenings curated by The Glasgow Film Theatre, Africa In Motion, The Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival and The Radical Film Network will be revealed soon.

In music, Cardiff's agit rock veterans Future of the Left (who return with fifth album The Peace & Truce of Future of the Left this April) are joined by Sheffield mathcore champions Rolo Tomassi and Glasgow post-hardcore quartet United Fruit at the recently opened Saint Luke's on Saturday 14 May, while Canadian composer Tim Hecker (on the heels of his first LP for 4AD) and electronic maverick Blanck Mass will commandeer the venue the following evening. Tickets for the shows are available here now.

Restless Natives takes place at venues in Glasgow's East End from 9-15 May.
