Breaking Bad drug lord Gus Fring makes a chilling and hilarious return in sly Better Call Saul promo

Things didn’t end well for mild-mannered drug lord and fast food chicken impresario Gus Fring (played by Giancarlo Esposito) in the finale of Breaking Bad’s fourth series. Walter White’s ruthless nemesis looks to be making a comeback, however, in the third series of Netflix’s brilliant Breaking Bad prequel, Better Call Saul.

A sly teaser for the third series has arrived online in the form of a pitch-perfect ad for Fring’s Los Pollos Hermanos, a high-quality fried chicken chain that acts as the cover for Fring’s higher-quality meth business.

"At Los Pollos Hermanos, we know only the best will do for you and your family," says the ad’s narrator. "What does family taste like? In your heart, you know it's the best ingredients, the spiciest spices, all prepared with love and care – and always delivered with a friendly smile. That's the Los Pollos Hermanos promise."

What does family taste like? If the ad couldn’t get more cheesily chilling, Fring turns up at the end to flog the restaurant's new curly fries. “We’re so sure you’ll like them,” he says with his trademark phoney smile. "And if you don't, they're on me!" As Walter White and co learned in Breaking Bad, Fring is a hard man to say no to.

If the actor’s Twitter feed is anything to go by, Esposito seems as excited by the prospect of his return to Vince Gilligan's world of Breaking Bad as we are:
