Bill Murray, the hangdog star of Ghostbusters, Rushmore and Stripes, is pretty much a national treasure at this point. The actor isn’t resting on his laurels, however. At the age of 66 he’s embarking on a music career.

If you’ve seen Murray’s hilarious and moving turn in Sofia Coppola’s Lost in Translation, you’ll know he’s got some singing chops from his spirited karaoke rendition of Roxy Music’s More Than This. He also did some fine crooning in A Very Murray Christmas, a Netflix special which was also directed by Sofia Coppola.

Murray’s tuneful voice is good news, as the actor has announced he’ll be releasing his first album, titled New Worlds. A collaboration with cellist Jan Vogler, the record will feature Murray singing songs from Gershwin and Stephen Foster and reading passages from the likes of Whitman, Hemingway and Twain over music by Schubert, Bach, and Piazzolla.

Ahead of its September release, the funny-man showed off his live singing skills with an appearance at the Dresden Music Festival in Germany at the weekend. Appearing alongside Vogler, violinist Mira Wang and pianist Vanessa Perez, Murray sang some songs from the forthcoming album, including a cover of Van Morrison classic When Will I Ever Learn To Live In God?

A fan at the concert captured Murray’s cover on video and shared it on her Instagram. Take a look at the full-blooded performance below:
