Just My Luck

Nothing special, but not terrible either.

Film Review by Paul Gallagher | 15 Jul 2006
Film title: Just My Luck
Director: Donald Petrie
Starring: Lindsay Lohan, Chris Pine, McFly
Release date: June 30
Certificate: PG

Supposedly marking Lindsay Lohan's leap into the world of grown-up film roles, 'JML' isn't actually much of a stretch for her, in that she plays her same stock high school character in 'young professional' clothing. The film also marks the big-screen debut of irritating pop muppets McFly, surely a harbinger of doom if there ever was one. Thankfully they don't get much screen time, and both Lohan and her star-crossed love interest Pine have ample charm, making the film surprisingly enjoyable. The plot is some inane nonsense about losing and gaining luck, but it doesn't outstay its welcome and offers a few good laughs to pass the time. [Paul Gallagher]
