Gruff Rhys and co returned last year for a series of gigs to coincide with the 15th anniversary reissue of Welsh-language album Mwng – read our review of their gig at Manchester's Albert Hall. Elsewhere, Canadian indie collective Broken Social Scene, Berlin-based electronic producer Gold Panda, psych four-piece Temples, alt-country stalwart M. Ward, Glasgow outfit WHITE and post-punks Eagulls have all joined the line-up for this September's festival.

Also on the bill for the festival are art-rockers Django Django, Mercury-nominated multi-instrumentalist C Duncan, hip-hop royalty Roots Manuva and indie veterans Echo and the Bunnymen, while Festival No. 6 composer-in-residence Joe Duddell joins forces with the Manchester Camerata orchestra for David Bowie Reimagined, a set of re-arranged Bowie classics with a host of guest vocalists.

The Nest Collective present a folk stage led by This Is The Kit, while the electronic line-up features Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnston, Optimo, Fleetmac Wood, Joy Orbison, Ben UFO, Crazy P and BBC 6 Music's Craig Charles.

Festival No. 6 runs from 1-4 Sept at Portmeirion, North Wales; the 2016 festival is headlined by Noel Gallagher, Bastille and Hot Chip.
