Liverpool Psych Fest announces late-night line-up

Liverpool Psych Fest has revealed 'PZYK COLONY', its late-night programme of performances and DJs including Demdike Stare, Silver Apples and more.

PZYK COLONY is an 'immersive 360 audio visual realm,' promising to turn the Camp warehouse of Camp and Furnace into 'a shifting, geometric cube.' The installation has been devised by Psych Fest's PZYK team and aims to reimagine the venue's industrial space as 'an intense, singular light-emitting diode, a trance-den-cum-live-space.' It will host some of the key performances of the weekend: Demdike Stare, Silver Apples, Cavern of Anti-Matter, The Oscillation, Acid Washed, and Howes.

These performances will be connected by DJ sets from Andy Votel and DJ Thundermuscle. PZYK COLONY will run from midnight to 4am both evenings (23 & 24 September).

Psych Fest has also announced its DJ line-up, which sees Votel and Thundermuscle joined by some of 'the finest PZYK selectors in the known universe' – including Tom Furse of The Horrors (who headline the festival along with Super Furry Animals), Cherrystones, Clinic, Mugstar's Jason Stoll and reps from Melodic Records and Akoustik Anarkhy; listen to Ade Blackburn of Clinic's playlist, put together for us ahead of last weekend's Liverpool International Music Festival, and find the full list of Psych Fest DJs below.

The DJs will be spread across all of the festival's live warehouses, from PZYK COLONY to the Atrium, 'PZYK PRISM' and 'Dark Side of The Blade'.

They join festival headliners Super Furry Animals and The Horrors, as well as other bill highlights including Mark Gardener's Pure Phase Ensemble, Japanese titans Acid Mothers Temple, Heavenly Records' The Wytches, one of our favourite noisy crews Eagulls, recent Brian Jonestown Massacre support act The Veldt and ex-Pipette Gwenno.

Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia 2016 takes place at Camp and Furnace, Blade Factory and District in Liverpool on 23 & 24 September. See full details of the line-up and buy tickets at liverpoolpsychfest.com
