GoNorth announce live showcase lineup

Article by News Team | 28 Apr 2014

GoNorth Festival (4-5 Jun) is Scotland's specialist showcase festival and creative industries showcase, taking place annually at venues across Inverness. Today, the festival have announced the lineup for this year's Live Showcase strand, featuring some of Scotland's best emerging bands, including Miaoux Miaoux, Vasa, Hector Bizerk, United Fruit and others.

Like South By Southwest or Liverpool Sound City, the event is centred around showcasing emerging bands in front of leading figures from the Scottish music industry and beyond. As well as up-and-coming Scottish bands, the showcase will this year feature artists from Norway, France, Sweden and Germany. The festival also includes workshops, lectures, a specially-curated radio station, and strands on comedy and film.

"This year’s submission process achieved a record number of applications and it proved particularly challenging to establish the final list," says Festival Director Amanda Millen. "We would like to thank all the artists that applied to perform and we are excited to be showcasing such a huge range of talent at this year’s festival."

The full lineup of bands for the showcase this year can be seen here – it includes some Skinny favourites, such as SAY Award-longlisted hip-hop crew Hector Bizerk, rising post-rockers Vasa, indie electro duo Atom Tree, post-hardcore outfit United Fruit, electro prodigy Miaoux Miaoux, Aberdeen synth-poppers Indian Red Lopez, electronic rock collective Machines In Heaven, masked techno troublemakers Roman Nose, and Neu Reekie indie-pop favourites Teen Canteen, amongst many more.
