Bluedot have announced a second wave of acts for their 2017 line-up, with ethereal electro-pop duo Goldfrapp, French house maestro Vitalic and space-rock veterans Hawkwind joining the music programme this July. This follows the announcement earlier this month that Pixies, Orbital and Alt-J will headline the festival at Jodrell Bank Observatory in Cheshire.

Hot Chip's Joe Goddard is also among the new additions, following last year's solo album Electric Lines, as are London noisemakers Dream Wife, the ambient pairing of XAM Duo and energetic electronic outfit Galaxians, among others – read the full line-up of new additions below.

An impressive line-up of DJs has also been announced, featuring the jazzy eclecticism of Mr. Scruff, hip-hop turntablist DJ Yoda, Soho Radio's Eddy Temple Morris and audio-visual artist DJ Cheeba.

The folks behind the Night Time Stories label's Late Night Tales compilation series also bring Nightmares on Wax to headline the festival's Arboretum stage, also curated by Leeds promoters High and Lonesome, while Algorave will return to Bluedot with an impressive line-up of live coders.

This year's science programme features authors, academics and artists, including novelist and screenwriter Frank Cottrell-Boyce, and an Observer-hosted afternoon of talks and debates around the new phenomena of 'fake news'. An exclusive screening of Tove Jansson's The Moomins and The Comet will also take place, complete with live score, and composer Ilan Eshkeri will be on hand to discuss his unique musical collaboration with British astronaut Tim Peake.

The 80th anniversary of Delia Derbshire, pioneer of electronic music and member of the BBC's Radiophonic Workshop, will also be celebrated with an afternoon of talks and workshops inspired by her work.

Full weekend camping tickets are available from the festival website, with the alternative option of a monthy payment plan.
