Scott Hutchison and co headline this year's festival at Drumlanrig, with Arab Strap and The Jesus and Mary Chain also on the bill

Frightened Rabbit lead the line-up for this year's Electric Fields festival, following the release of their fifth album Painting of a Panic Attack last year. Read our April 2016 cover story with the band on the making of the album, and our interview with guitarist Andy Monaghan looking back on an often-tumultuous year for the band.

Elsewhere on the bill, the returning Arab Strap are joined by The Jesus & Mary Chain, with the initial line-up completed by Brat and the Bonemen, And Yet It Moves – the new project from Amazing Snakeheads frontman Dale Barclay – and Glasgow electro-rock outfit Crash Club. Electric Fields have also confirmed that the festival's electronic stage will once again be curated by Sneaky Pete's, while Tim Burgess' Tim Peaks Diner stage will also be returning after featuring at 2016's festival.

Electric Fields 2017 takes place at Drumlanrig Castle, Dumfries & Galloway on 1 & 2 September; read our two-part review of Electric Fields 2016.
