Primal Scream, Everything Everything and The Twilight Sad are among the first names announced for this year's Electric Fields festival at Drumlanrig Castle, which expands to a two day event this August.

Resurgent Scottish indie icons Primal Scream are the first headline act confirmed for the event's third outing, supporting their eleventh studio record Chaosmosis which is due for release this spring. Manchester-based art rockers Everything Everything join them on the bill. The Twilight Sad follow their secret show on The Skinny Stage at last year's Electric Fields with a full band set at the 2016 edition, while high-concept instrumental duo Public Service Broadcasting, and Dundee indie-pop outfit Model Aeroplanes are also confirmed for the festival.

Edinburgh club Sneaky Pete's will be running a dance stage, with Erol Alkan and Joy Orbison the first acts confirmed to play it. Electric Fields have also announced that Tim Peaks, a tent curated by Charalatans frontman Tim Burgess across the weekend, bring the bespoke touch to this year's festival. Tim Peaks' established house band Riding The Low, fronted by actor and director Paddy Considine (SubmarineDead Man's Shoes) will make their Scottish festival debut.
