Festival Watch: MUTEK Barcelona headliners announced; T in the Park gets 1am license

MUTEK takes place in Canada, Mexico and Barcelona in Spain, with the Barcelona show providing a chance for Spanish artists to play alongside international luminaries from the world of cutting-edge electronic music. Next year's European leg of the festival, MUTEK Barcelona (5-8Mar) has announced details of its initial headliners, welcoming Nils Frahm, Marcel Dettmann, Andy Stott, and Deadbeat and MC Tikiman. There will also be a Hyperdub showcase, with appearances from Kode9, Laurel Halo and Scratcha DVA. Find out more details here.

Meanwhile, close to home, news reaches us that T in the Park (11-13 Jul) has gained a 1am license for all of its stages next year - which means the festival can book more headliners, and revellers can party on into the wee small hours, as opposed to going to bed and sleeping quietly in their tents until breakfast time, as is traditional.
