Glasgow in-the-city festival Stag and Dagger (4 May) have announced their initial lineup – this year's bill will feature The Strokes' Albert Hammond Jr.; ex-The Low Anthem frontwoman Jocie Adams under her new Arc Iris moniker; Milk! records founder Courtney Barnett, Brooklyn indie rockers The Hold Steady; majestic Bella Union dream pop troupe Lanterns on the Lake, Planet Mu's electronic maven Laurel Halo, and Welsh indie mob Los Campesinos!, with more artists to be announced. Gigs will take place in May at venues throughout the city. Details and tickets can be found here.

In direct competition with Stag and Dagger, but focusing exclusively on electronic music, is this year's Riverside Festival (3-4 May), the new name being given to the regular Electric Frog event, produced in association with clubbing giants Pressure. No lineup announcement has yet been made, but promoter Dave Clarke commented: "We’re hugely excited to bring Electric Frog & Pressure Riverside Festival back to Riverside Museum this May Bank Holiday Weekend. Last year’s event was brilliant – the location was amazing. We’ve made a few site changes and added an extra day, so it’ll be our biggest event yet. We’ll be making a line-up announcement very soon and with some great acts already in store, it’s shaping up to be our best Electric Frog and Pressure collaboration yet!" We'll keep you posted on lineup announcements as they happen.

And finally, a few more names added to the Bestival (4-7 Sep) bill – they welcome new additions Foals, Disclosure, Major Lazer and Beck to their main stage lineup, with London Grammar, CHVRCHES, Wild Beasts, Sam Smith, Caribou, Clean Bandit and Laura Mvula also joining the bill. Details and tickets here.
