Stewart Lee's favourite German comedian comes to Glasgow. Deutschland über alles!

Most important question first: Tell us about your show.

No Surrender is Teutonic jolliness at its best.

What's going to be unique about this performance of your show?

As a keen football fan, doing a show called No Surrender in Glasgow will be funny for obvious reasons.

Due to a lawsuit, you're forced to rename your show. What do you call it?

Nein, nein, nein, it's an emergency.

If your show was a dear friend who had just died, what would you say about it in your eulogy?

He done the best he could. Shame he isn't available as a CD but luckily his predecessor, My Struggle, is.

Is there anything in particular that you're looking forward to about playing in Glasgow?

The nutters. Last year I was woken up by a march outside my hotel window. There can't be a more authentic awakening in Glasgow.

Or anything you're dreading?

If they were to decide to come and see my show in the evening.

Where do you stand on Scottish Independence?

Same difference. Currently London's paying for everything. In case of independence Berlin will. It'll make no difference to Scottish people.

Who would get your vote as president of an independent Scotland?

Bob Doolally. Or Berti Vogts.

If you were organising a fantasy comedy night, who would you have as MC, support and main act?

As long as Charlie Chuck is the main act I don't mind who else is on.

Who else are you going to see during the Glasgow Festival?

Christian Schulte-Loh. Like me he's from the Ruhr Valley and like me he supports Schalke 04. He's the perfect drinking companion and a very fine stand-up.

Would you like to make a disparaging comment about the Edinburgh Fringe in
order to appeal to the Glasgow public? (Don't worry, nobody will remember  this by August)

Bloody English!

Regional current affairs. Fill in the blank space: Rangers ________________________ LOL

...gave a fine example of what happens if Scottish independence became reality...
