Helen and Danny keep themselves to themselves – until the day the outside world comes crashing into their lives when Helen’s brother turns up, covered in blood.

Dennis Kelly’s new play, which will premiere at this year’s Fringe, is billed as a thrilling contemporary suspense story which takes its audience on a harrowing journey into an unfamiliar world just outside the front door.

Co-star of BBC television's Robin Hood, Joe Armstrong, and The Catherine Tate Show’s Jonathan McGuiness will feature in a production directed by Roxana Silbert, who directed the award-winning production of Kelly’s After the End – a surprise hit at 2005's Fringe.

Kelly has won plaudits for his plays which cover themes as diverse as terrorism, family dysfunction, infanticide, alcoholism and trolls. He also co-wrote the BAFTA-winning BBC sitcom, Pulling. Orphans ought to be a gripping work by one of Britain’s brightest theatrical talents.
