Pete Johansson: Utopian Crack Pipe

Cracking comedy from the popular Canadian

Preview by Bernard O'Leary | 16 Jul 2012

So then, tell us about your show?
It's everything you've been looking for deep in your soul. And bears.

How have your previews been going?
I did one last night and it rocked. Mind you it was only ten minutes long.

How are you going to keep it fresh for the full three weeks?
I'm going to seal it in foil and put it behind the frozen peas.

Is it ultimately worth coming to the Fringe?
Is anything ultimately worth doing? If this existence is an accidental temporary incursion forming a universe and we are various reflections of energy from different dimensions, then I think the point of that randomness is for me to do Edinburgh.

Do you have a guaranteed, surefire flyering technique?
Yeah, I hire people.

What's your health regime for the Fringe?
I follow the NHS visiting the third world guide pamphlet from my doctors.

What's the worst mistake people make at the Fringe?
Probably marrying too young or getting a mortgage.

Last year's Fringe was all about the London riots. What major news event do you think will force you to hurriedly rewrite your 2012 show?
The breaking news that my show sucks.

What was your favourite joke when you were a kid?
The one that required me to keep it a secret.

Who else are you hoping to see while you're in Edinburgh?
Kathryn Ryan, Rory Scovel, and the Lumberjacks. I definitely won't be going to see the hilarious Carl Donnelly, that jerk is just too good.
