Walking the streets with a bright blue face, wearing a turquoise lycra body suit, a sequinned flapper dress, and red shoes, I do attract a certain amount of attention even during the Fringe. The Smurfs in 3D couldn’t have launched their marketing campaign at a better time. Thank you so much for the deeply original heckles, drunken lads of Edinburgh. Good news: The Blue Lady Sings Back is also in 3D, and you won’t even need to wear the glasses to watch it.

Thanks too to the hatchet-faced local woman who warned me, “Any other month of the year you’d be shot”. And to the hot guy who shouted at me in the Grassmarket, “You’re beautiful but you’re freaking me out – are you a man or a woman?” my answer is: Why don’t you come up and see me sometime, and I’ll show you?
