Absolutely Agitated Acupuncturist Returns to Find It

Review by Lizzie Cass-Maran | 10 Aug 2012

This show promises that the audience will 'leave a little healthier, with some insights into longevity.'

We did receive quite a nice tip on effective hand massage, but unfortunately by this point in the show any chance of the audience's being connected with performer Olivia Rhee was ruined, after having spent a good half hour in a state of confusion as to whether or not she was talking to us. The intended audience (and character) for Rhee's performance seemed to sway between figures from her life, an imaginary angel and, maybe, the few people sat in front of her.

As her publicity quotes her as being a professional singer, I can only presume it was an early dose of Fringe 'flu which led to the cracked high notes and croaky tones in today's offering. She seemed off kilter all round, forgetting lines and lacking any emotional punch.

I'm going to try the hand massage thing. It's the only nugget I was able to grasp from a badly written, directed, and executed show.
