Richard Reed Parry of Arcade Fire and The National guitarist Bryce Dessner will perform alongside the Scottish Chamber Orchestra as part of this year’s Edinburgh International Festival.

Dessner and Reed Parry will perform the Arcade Fire multi-instrumentalist’s guitar and bass composition Heart & Breath, while the Scottish Chamber Orchestra will perform the duo’s recent collaborative work Wave Movements for strings and Dessner’s 2013 piece Murder Ballades.

Dessner and Reed Parry join a string of concerts which will also feature indigenous folk maestro King Creosote who performs From Scotland With Love and a screening of Katsuhiro Otomo’s anime Magnetic Rose soundtracked by visionary electronic producer Oneohtrix Point Never on the Festival’s new late-night music line-up, based at The Hub on the Royal Mile throughout the Festival.

Elsewhere in the EIF programme, Franz Ferdinand and Sparks collaboration FFS and indie-folk songwriter Sufjan Stevens will play major shows at the Festival Theatre and Playhouse respectively.

Wave Movements, Heart & Breath and Murder Ballades is at The Hub on 28 August; the 2015 Edinburgh International Festival runs from 7-31 August.
