Film Festival Fever Hits the Capital

1.21 Gigawatts!

Feature by Dave Kerr | 12 Jun 2008

The Edinburgh International Film Festival gets set for something of a soft launch as Film Festival Under The Stars takes place tomorrow and Saturday night (that's the 13th and 14th of June, fact fans).

Screening for your viewing pleasure will be a bounty of modern-ish classics (depending on what side of the 80s you were born on) showing at the following times:

Friday
ET 17:30
Local Hero 20:15
Strictly Ballroom 22:15

Saturday
Local Hero 14:30
ET 17:00
Strictly Ballroom 19:30
Back to the Future 21:30

It's all taking place at the Mound Precinct next to the National Gallery on Princes Street and it's FREE! Straight up, like.

So pack the sangers, remember the hip flask and recline while Marty and the Doc endeavour to make it back to 1985. Scotland doesn't do drive-ins, but if they did they'd probably be a bit like this.

More information can be found here, while a clip of a dog being sent back in time can be sampled below.
