Mark Restuccia: The Diary of a Serial Internet Dater

Review by Heather McDaid | 12 Aug 2013

Online dating is no longer a taboo, with countless options for the singleton just a click away. Mark Restuccia is no stranger to this, his last show being a 'How To.' But e-success clearly isn't his forte, as he regales the small audience with a string of sexual mishaps bordering on the ludicrous.

From the concept of flash-sex, to the chance to sleep with his high school crush, Restuccia is happy to tell outrageous stories that spiral from adult dating sites to apps designed for one night stands. None come close in shock-value to an unexpected sexual dalliance with Batman, or the accidental kidnapping of a woman from Blackpool.

Some of the tales fall flat on the specifics; being coy and giggling is endearing, but it can seem a little too generalised to avoid ruder tangents. Though, in a show that references a dominatrix being paid to pee, there is at least a little balance. The Diary of a Serial Internet Dater could take more risks, but still delivers the giggles.
