Britain's Got Fuck All Talent

Review by Kate Russell | 24 Aug 2012

Everybody loves those weirdies that delusionally try out for TV reality shows – it’s the nation’s favourite bit! Britain’s Got Fuck All Talent is a hilarious celebration of Simon Cowell’s only true gift to this country.

Ant and Dec are no match for Liam Withnail, the show’s MC. He gets the audience lively and whooping and cheering with his easy banter and cheeky charm. Saturday night TV could certainly do with a bit more of what he’s got.

From the first character to the last, Matt Ellis absolutely nails it. His accents are spot on, and the physicality of each character is entirely different to the last and totally believeable at all times – if it weren’t for the chest hair and big feet, you might honestly believe a 15-year-old Irish girl was trying to seduce you.

The adorable Kenny Boyle (of cousin-of-SuBo fame), somewhat disturbed schoolgirl Scorchka O’Finnegan, and bouncer martial artist Anthony all have the audience in stitches, but the real treat is saved ‘til last; Latino lothario popstrel JellyBeen Martinez is the icing on a very tasty cake.

So different to anything you’re likely to see this Fringe, this show is such great fun. Go – you’ll not regret it.
