Sniper Presents OGB

If simply producing a CD makes you a hip-hop artist, then OGB is a hip-hop artist. Surely he tells all the girls that.

Album title: Sniper presents OGB
Artist: OGB
Label: OGB / Solarise
Clearly influenced by some outstanding and very respectable artists, this album is a complete insult to them and the quality, fresh talent that the hip-hop and R&B scene has to offer. Sleazy lyrics about 'spending time' with numerous females may not have sounded so bad if OGB had stuck to his native French tongue, but parts of the album would still sound like a 3rd - no, 5th rate 'Jazzmatazz' cast-off. The album appears to offer a variety of styles, with Egyptian and Indian-flavored tunes alongside more sexy numbers. However, using the same backing track at slightly different pitches for two completely separate tunes takes away what little credibility OGB may have had. OGB would like to give the impression that he is a hustler, a player, a gangster; that the ladies all want him, and he has had a hard life. He says people doubted he would make it. It is too easy to sympathize with those people. If simply producing a CD makes you a hip-hop artist, then OGB is a hip-hop artist. Surely he tells all the girls that. Wannabe. [James Creakle]
