Seanie T & Serocee / Pesci - 'Sero & Seanie / Heavyweight MC'

Sero & Seanie has a laidback vibe, with samples of classic reggae leavening the broken beat. Heavyweight MC is a dubious boxing metaphor track, with Pesci namechecking some famous boxers and using left-hooks and jabs as lyrical similies.

Two fat slices of reggae-inclined hip-hop from producer Keith Laurence, showcasing the talents of Seanie T (last seen as a member of the Blaknificent Seven, on his own Dark Horizon Rekordz) and also Serocee and Pesci, this is classic dancehall / rap crossover. Sero & Seanie has a laidback vibe, with samples of classic reggae leavening the broken beat. Heavyweight MC is a dubious boxing metaphor track, with Pesci namechecking some famous boxers and using left-hooks and jabs as lyrical similies. Less impressive than the A-Side, it is nonetheless a solid offering, and would not sound out of place on an album – as a B-Side it leaves a bit to be desired. [Omar Kudos]
