Bringing techno back to the Studio, Kontrol's launch night is downright brilliant. Old-school techno beats mixed with fresh electro pound through the soundsystem, driving the fairly quiet crowd almost wild. Working the decks tonight is a double bill of International Deejay Gigolos Records' latest stars: the sexy Spanish female tag team, Le Chic, who direct the night towards the mainstream and minimal, and Manchester's Kevin Gorman, who steals the show with steady rumblings and builds of satisfaction, all brought to you by the unstoppable Kenny Breaks, who currently has his hands in many pies. The crowd is perhaps a little small for a launch night, but keep your eyes in this direction for further developments and expansion. [Karen Taggart]
