It was a little unsurprising to see a crowd of only 40-50 people on the night

Just about every clubber in Edinburgh has seen Billy Nasty at one or more points in their personal gig history (almost as a matter of initiation into the world of late-night entertainment) so it was a little unsurprising to see a crowd of only 40-50 people on the night. It was more surprising to Nasty however, who made several exits from the decks throughout his set, disappointed that he had rallied a handful instead of a stadium. When he did stick around however, it was a solid techno set, erring on the acidic and deep side with choice selections from the Torture Records imprint. And in a show of good-will, Nasty did extra time on the decks, extending his appearance by almost an hour. Keep an eye out for Jackhammer's next date on Mar 16 – Justin Robertson will be here teaching the crowd a hard-to-forget lesson in techno. [Alex Burden]
