Donnacha Costello - Black Bag Job

The two edits of Black Bag Job utilise the same oneiric analogue synths and stripped-to-the-bone percussion as Colorseries

Single Review by Liam Arnold | 06 Jan 2008
Single title: Black Bag Job
Artist: Donnacha Costello
Label: Minimise
Capitalising on the success of his Colorseries collection, Donnacha Costello drops a tasty new 12" that again experiments with the possibilities of subtly shifting repetitive arrangements. The two edits of Black Bag Job utilise the same oneiric analogue synths and stripped-to-the-bone percussion as Colorseries, slowly evolving, implying climaxes before simply regressing back to basics. It's a trick that can be overplayed, and Costello takes the play-length of the tracks as titles, offering a 7.37 and 5.26 minute edit. [Liam Arnold]
