Construct at Studio 24, Edinburgh Event Review

The music and atmosphere was explosive and a storming night was had by all

Friday the thirteenth may be unlucky for some, but not for the organisers of this superb charity night. Tonight's Construct was the first drum and bass club to grace the studios in a long time, uniting Edinburgh's finest homegrown d&b talent in honour of MC Sonny; and the crew certainly did him proud. The main aim of the night was to raise money in aid of Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres and the Meningitis Trust, and going by the numbers in attendance this was definitely achieved. With DJ and MC appearances from Edinburgh's main drum and bass clubs including Manga's G-Mac, ENO (Xplicit) and IB (Obscene) the night was banging – full of loud, noisy, dirty breaks and beats, with an up for it crowd getting down on the dancefloor. The music and atmosphere was explosive and a storming night was had by all. There are no future plans at present, but going by the success of tonight's performance hopefully this will become a regular event. [Karen Taggart]
