Drums of Death @ Origin, 27 March

The undead musical heavyweight continues to hold out his debut album from us. Bloody cocktease.

As Colin Bailey's tour dates become ever more exotic in early 2010 (OK, Nottingham excepted), you'd be forgiven for thinking that the erstwhile shaman has turned his back on us pasty faced Scots. Woe betide the thought: Drums Of Death swoops by the Granite City on the 27th like a Halloween seagull to treat Origin revellers to his unique brand of moshpit inciting house beats, on what will be the only Scottish date of his European tour. While Bailey's last 12" - the downright priapic Got Yr Thing - continues to enjoy heavy rotation, news is slow as far as a release date for debut album Generation Hexed is concerned. As we wait cap in hand for scraps of rumour on Drums Of Death's forthcoming longplayer, expect to hear quite a bit of click-clacking around The Drill Hall as we pace the floors and raid the swear jars, fretting over how to fund a four hour car journey to Aberdeen.
