Autechre are a Manchester duo that need no introduction. Or do they? There’s no easy way to acquaint chaste ears to a catalogue that spans nearly 20 years, especially when said catalogue is a dense and occasionally inscrutable fug of algorithmic blips and beats; so, where do you start? Numbers offers would-be punters the perfect opportunity to delve into the Autechre oeuvre this March, alongside fellow electronic music atom-splitters Russell Haswell, Rob Hall and Didjit. Meanwhile, Autechre devotees can look forward to a preview of Oversteps, the full-length follow up to the excellent Quaristice, released later this month.

Though their experimental style might remain a hard sell for the casual listener, an adventurous spirit will be rewarded with a show that will look and feel, to a man, like an alternate dimension, where melody is but a faint, emaciated moan buried and shackled beneath jittering loops-within-loops, machine-gun snares and the Warp duo’s inimitable live atmosphere.
