The first minister of "bukkakestep" makes his presence felt at Hush Hush

Article by Jaco Justice | 22 Feb 2010

All hail the London loon accredited with the phrase "bukkakestep"! The Fabric regular and multi-label running boss swings by on his global tour to add further buoyancy, or perhaps a feverent wobble, to an ever impressive musical agenda at Aberdeen's meanest nocturnal outpost, Origin. Credited, alongside Rusko, with providing the first commercially available dubstep compilation (FabricLive 37) Caspa delivers bass-rhythms as provocative as Danny Dyer preaching about UFOs or Guy Ritchie asking Mother Teresa to 'do over' The Queen Vic. Playing the cockney villain is all fine and dandy but you gotta produce the goods too. In some quarters his productions have been seen to betray the Jamaican and UK garage origins of dubstep, but if you ain't bothered about being broiled down in the tiresome pigeon-holing of genres then jump aboard that big, brash bus headed for Bassville and splurge out your inner cockney to anyone listening.
