Though a producer and remixer in his own right, Prins is probably best known for his musical partnership with fellow Norwegian Hans-Peter Lindstrom, thanks to their well-received, 2005 debut album. He's no slouch behind the decks either: "I got into DJing around '84-'88, playing two belt driven turntables," Thomas recalls. "I used to tape all the good bits off 'dance music' shows and then hassle my local record store with want-lists." In the early nineties he moved away from the decks to play in several local bands, but became disillusioned when fellow band members didn't seem to share his musical vision. So, he made a return to DJing around '93 with a week night club residency: "I played all kinds of music, from Mantronix to David Bowie, Miles Davis to Kris Kristoffersen – I was encouraged and inspired by a local DJ, Strangefruit, made some tapes up and eventually went on to play around Norway."

By 2000 Thomas had grown bored of playing the same clubs and crowds and so decided to move into the studio to lay down some of his own musical ideas. Later he met and began collaborating with Lindstrom, first on a remix project, then the pair started jamming together, eventually leading to their album, with a follow-up planned. "The reason we work so well together is that we both have a lot of musical heroes and ideas in common but we come from different backgrounds so are able to present new ideas to each other," explains Thomas. Aside from his recording career, Thomas has his own label, Full Pupp, a regular outlet for Norwegian producers and DJs across the globe. He's also set to release his first mix-CD, Cosmo Galactic Prism and a full-length reworking of the Lindstrom & Prins Thomas album, Reinterpretations. For his Indian Summer set, he's not planning too much in advance: "What you expected to be 5000 people with their hands in the air can suddenly turn into a muddy and dark tent with 50 people waiting to hear the folk act after you," he says, laughing. "I'll just bring lots records and CDs and take it from there!"
